What's Happen?

I'm feeling a ton better today. It wasn't the swine flu like everyone has asked. It was a really bad head cold. Now my sweetie has it. Apparently I'm good at sharing.

The past few weeks have been a bit busy. I had the opportunity to go to Southern Utah with some friends to see two shows at the Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City and two shows at Tuachan in Ivins (aka St. George). At the SF we saw "Women in Black" and "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged". "Women in Black" was soooooo scary!! I've never been that jumpy and scared at the theater before. The cast, which is only 3 people, were really good at portraying the story and making you feel like you are there. The technical stuff was the star of the show. The sounds, the movement, aaaahhhh!! Scary!!! At one point I jumped and grabbed onto Hutch. Very good show! "Complete Works" was the complete opposite, it was hilarious!! I have seen it before live and I have the movie and script so I know this show. I loved that they updated some of the jokes and made it their own. Other productions just copy the movie, which is a great version, but it's fun to see other's creativity. At Tuachan we saw "Annie" and "Aida". We were actually about 15 or so minutes late to "Annie" so we missed the "Hard Knock Life" number which is one of my favorites. I haven't seen the stage version is such a long time that I had forgotten that the movie and stage versions are very different. I will admit that I love the movie version more then the stage version. I was a bit disappointed with this production for little things. We were sitting on the 2nd row (I know! We were late AND sitting on the second row - we're terrible!) and it was very obvious that Annie's natural hair color is dark. The wig was terrible. It look like a wig someone bought for $1 at Walmart or the Dollar Store. Also, Annie yelled half her lines. I know it's good not to rely on your microphone, but when the lines are screetching, you can pull back a bit. Now onto "Aida": FAB.U.LOUS!!! It was incredible. The talent was amazing!! The girl who played Aida was born to play that part. She was so strong in all of her songs and her acting was awesome. It took me awhile to warm up to Radames because I'm a huge fan of Clay Elder who played it at Hale, but the actor Tuachan had did do a great job. They flooded the stage twice and it worked. I've seen some shows where they want to use their flooding abilities but it doesn't fit the show, but believe or not, it did in this one. I would suggest seeing "Aida" if you get a chance. (now I've built it up too much and you will hate it).

Wasn't Conference great this session? I thoroughly enjoyed every talk. It seemed that everyone went back to the basics of the gospel which means we really needed it; at least I did. There was so much passion in what our leaders shared with us that it brought me closer to them, to the gospel and to our Heavenly Father. Wonderful Weekend!! My sister and I also took my Grandmother to dinner during the Priesthood Session. We had a lovely time chatting and watching Duncan eat plate after plate of Mac-n-Cheese. :)

We're getting ready for our Primary program at Church. Our program is in November which is nice because it gives the kids more time to learn the music. I helped write the program and I think it will be a very nice one.

Well, I'm not sure if I've covered everything that has been going on, but it's a big chunk of it.
