Lucky?

I went and got measured for my costume for the next show I'm doing. While I was there one of the producers came by. I've known this person for a long time and this person knows me and they have only ever been nothing but nice to me. This person stopped by me and said Hi and then they said "Do you know how lucky you are?" I said, I know, I'm very excited to be a part of this show. I was shocked when I was cast. She said that a lot of people auditioned so I'm very lucky to be in the show, there seemed to be a lot of emphasis on the words "lucky" and "you". I didn't think much of our conversation at that moment but later I got to thinking...was that a compliment? It almost had the sound of "I wanted to cast someone else but they cast you so you're lucky" but I've never known this person to be mean so maybe she just meant that yes I am lucky because a lot of people auditioned and I must have shown something that they wanted so I was cast. Am I over analyzing? I have always asked myself "why did you get cast when people who are more talented than you didn't?" Am I just being down on myself? Am I just lucky?

Deep Thought 2

It's amazing how quickly people can change their tune...

Homework from Work

My boss gave me a copy of "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. He asked me to read it and we'd discuss it together. The tag line for the book is "You can go after the job you want - and Get It! You can take the job you have - and improve it! You can take any situation you're in - and make it work for you!"

Part 1 Chapter 1 Title: If you want to gather honey, don't kick over the beehive.

Do I really need this book? I don't think my attitude is too bad. I have plenty of friends. Do I really need to "win" more?

Deep Thought

I'm Lily Tomlin.
If you have seen the movie "9 to 5" you will know what I'm taking about. If you haven't...well I guess you need to rent it and watch it. Then you will understand my frustrations. I just need a Jane Fonda and Dolly Parton.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

Hutch bought a Wii today! Yeah!! He bought it on Ebay so we don't have it in hand. I'm going to Las Vegas next week and invited Hutch to come but he decided to stay home and get a Wii. He said he'd rather save the money for a Wii and ended up getting one today! I'm excited! I get to go on a vacation and have a Wii. Now we just have to find a Wii Fit at a normal price...

Week 3

Week 3
Down 3.2
Pounds!!!
Yeah!!!

Memories!!!

This is fun!
My friend had this on her blog and I thought I would be a copycat...
Memories
Here are the directions:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my blog's comments.

Mamma Mia, Here I Go Again!!

Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again?
My my, just how much Ive missed you
Yes, Ive been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, now I really know,
My my, I could never let you go.
*
Why start my blog with the ABBA song Mamma Mia? Because my loving husband surprised me last night and took me to the pre-screening of Mamma Mia last night. It was soooooo much fun!!! I want to see it again and again. I think I might have enjoyed it more then the stage version. If you ever saw the stage version you might disagree with me, but it is at least as fun. Meryl Streep does such an incredible job as Donna. When she sings "The Winner Takes All" and "Slipping Through My Fingers" I had tears in my eyes. So much emotion!! Every character blows me away. Pierce Bronson was ok at his singing, but his looks make up for it. :) If you get a chance to see, go and see it!! And take me with you!!

God Be With You Till We Meet Again

Today was the funeral of a lady in my ward. She was the first person to welcome me to my ward and she always had a warm smile for me when she saw me. She was a very sweet, caring and intelligent women. She will be missed. I was asked to accompany the soloist at the funeral. He sang "I Wonder When He Comes Again" from the Primary Songbook. I played the first verse straight through then on the 2nd verse played my own made up accompaniment with some flurish. I think it went really well.

For the closing hymn we sang "God Be With You Till We Meet Again". That is such a stong hymn to me. It has such simple words but they mean so much. We are literally asking that the Lord bless those that leave us either through death, or other distance and time. It also reassures that we will see them again. It's almost a guarentee that we will see each other again. It's not God be with you until we possibly meet again it's Till We Meet Again. It gives such comfort. I believe that this song has been sung at each family members funeral and even though I had a hard time singing it, it really brings comfort to my heart and reminds me of the sacrifice Jesus Christ made for us so we can see each other again and so we can see our Heavenly Father again. My last day of seminary in 9th grade my teacher asked that we sing it for our closing hymn. After we were done he said, "I know God will be with you till we meet again." Instead of saying 'Goodbye' to people, maybe we should say "God be with you till we meet again". It may bring comfort to your friends and family. So I end this blog with the special words of this song.

God be with you till we meet again;
by his councels guide, uphold you,
with his sheep securely fold you;
God be with you till we meet again.
*
God be with you till we meet again;
When life's perils thick confound you,
Put his arms unfailing round you.
God be with you till we meet again.
*
God be with you till we meet again:
Keep love's banner floating o'er you;
Smite death's theat'ning wave before you.
God be with you till we meet again.
*
Till we meet, till we meet,
Till we meet at Jesus' feet.
Till we meet, till we meet,
God Be With You Till We Meet Again.

Is She Alive?

Yes I am!! I have a lot of things to blog about, I just don't have my pictures in order. As soon as I get those together, I'll blog away about what has been going on in my life.

Watching The Weight...Leave!

Today was my first Weight Watchers meeting. I have signed up for Weight Watchers. KSL has someone from Weight Watchers come to their office. It makes it easier because the meetings are at work. I don't work for KSL but I help manage the building they are in and they love me. So they invited me to join their group. My friend Rebecca and I signed up today and today was our first meeting. I'm really excited!! I have a good feeling about this working. I just have to think and prepare ahead when I eat. I need to train my brain on changing my eating habits. It's also really nice that I just go to a meeting on my lunch break, down one floor, once a week with people I know. So cheers to a successful 12 weeks ahead of me. I'm toasting with a glass of water since I don't drink and I'm trying to not drink soda. :)

First Tag

I was going to wait to blog so that my lovely picture of Jonathan Crombie and me wouldn't be moved down but I was tagged so I must reply. Thanks Jessie. :)

Five Things On My To Do List:
1. Work Out/Lose Weight
2. Deep clean my house - one room a day, then repeat
3. Finish one of the books I'm reading
4. Put together a meal list (at least a week at a time) then go grocery shopping
5. Practice the piano more often

Places I've Lived:
1. Midvale, Utah (west side of freeway)
2. Midvale, Utah (east of freeway, barely west of State Street)

It's sad that I've only lived in 3 places but I'm ok with that. I don't like moving. Too hard.
