So the past week or so my body has been craving about 12 hours of sleep-I could be exaggerating. It's crazy. I feel like I'm constantly sleeping. (or I'm hanging out with boring people - heehee!) I've been going to bed around 10 p.m. (a couple of nights have been later) and when the alarm goes off at 6:30 a.m. it takes Hutch awhile to get me out of bed. I took Monday off of work because I wasn't feeling good. I slept until 10 a.m. went into the front room and dozed off and on for awhile then took a nap around 1 p.m. The funny thing is on Sunday I took about a 3 hour nap (no, not during church). So I know I've had plenty of sleep but my body doesn't think so. So you smart friends of mine, what's going on? Am I sleeping too much that's why I'm tired? Do I need to exercise more (or actually exercise) so I'm not so tired? Do I need to drink more water? Any suggestions? I do take a daily vitamin so it can't be low vitamins. So any suggestions...zzzzz...zzzz...huh! would be greatly appreciated. :)

Sleep. When is it too much?

Once I thought I had mono for an entire year. Turns out I was just really bored.
My suggestions aren't nearly as funny as Jessie's, but maybe (hopefully) it'll help...
I don't know enough about sleep to say you're getting the right amount or not, but I'd examine your WAKING habits (you seem to already know what to change).
-Start exercising: even just 10 minutes a day walking will help your body get BETTER sleep, even if it's just as much.
-Stay hydrated.
-Put some color in your diet (and I'm not talking M&M's)! Giving your body better fuel like grains, fruits & veg will make a HUGE difference! Junk food only brings you down.
I bet you'll not only sleep better, but feel better too!
Hope it helps!
What is your birth control method? If it's the pill, you may have a sudden (read: new) reaction that causes lower energy. Could your doctor prescribe a new one?
Try almonds and red berries. They're natural energy boosters.
And, not to get _too_ personal, but what is your emotional state right now? Could that be connected?
your not pregnant are you??? (wink) that's always a HUGE 'energy sucker' for me...
but really... SUMMER TIME heat always makes me tired... I agree with what Wendy and Kate had to say, also i've heard Citris too is a good energy booster...
Oo, i just thought about something... My sister and my mom (and my dad and borother-in-law) have something called Sleep Apnea'... (you can google it.)
Anyway, they've all seen major improvements in the quality of their sleep and their energy, since being tested and diagnosed... now they sleep with a special machine that helps them breath and sleep better. Just a thought. :)
I actually just talked to my cousin about this-I seem to be tired all the time too, and I'm actually getting a fair amount of sleep. She recommended jogging-said that helped her a ton! And I'm also thinking of having my thyroid checked-that can make you tired.
