In the News

Today while I was getting ready for work, I was watching "The Today Show". I usually watch it every morning to keep updated on what's going on around me. Today they had a segment that made me stop getting ready because of how ridiculous it was. They spent about 10 or so minutes discussing our First Lady, Michelle Obama's, clothing that she wore to the Grand Canyon. Are they serious!? Yes they were. Why where they discussing this? Because she was wearing shorts. Yup! They were discussing that she was wearing shorts. Does anyone else see this as a waste of air space (apparently not a waste of blog space though - heehee)? The story is here.

They are actually asking if she is "pushing the envelope". I can see maybe discussing it if she was wearing daisy dukes, but she wasn't. She was wearing shorts that went mid-thigh.

"The mid-thigh jeans shorts Obama sported are something most American women would wear without a second thought. But were they a fashion faux pas for a first lady?" Asks the article. I would have to agree with Mary Tomer from Mrs-O.org when she said, “I think the question is, what could be more appropriate than shorts for hiking the Grand Canyon with your family in mid-August?”

Are people upset because she is the first First Lady to wear shorts on a family vacation? I would like to see those nay-sayers hike the Grand Canyon in August in slacks or a dress, then see how you feel about her shorts.
If I looked half as good as Michelle Obama, I'd wear sleeveless and shorts too! Well, that is before I went to the Temple :)

Oh the horror! The First Lady has legs AND arms? How could we elect her husband as the President? What were we thinking? Good thing we did not elect Senator McCain... his wife has legs and arms too that sometimes show.
