Pink Elephants on Parade!

Ok, they weren't pink but they were elephants. The circus in in town and tonight is opening so they had a mini-parade outside my office building. It went down 1st South, through the Gateway, out to 400 West and down to Energy Solutions. It was really fun! Here are some pictures I took. I took a bunch, but didn't want to put all of them up.

Don't Stop Believin!!

I enjoy the group "Journey". I'm pretty sure many of you have heard of them. If you haven't...what rock have you been living under? My favorite "Journey" song is "Don't Stop Believin" There's something about that song that brings a smile to my face. I can listen to it over and over again and not get sick of it. I wanted to share some versions of it. I wanted to post the version from "Family Guy" but Fox doesn't allow it. The last one will be "Journey" actually singing it. Hope you enjoy!!

For more info on these kids go to here.

Now don't you all feel better after listening? I know I do!

Ahh Sushi!

I have been scanned! The government now knows I've been to a bar!! My sis-in-law Tif took my hubby and I out to dinner last night to Ahh Sushi. It's a sushi bar that is shared with the Ah Shucks bar in the basement of the restaurant Martine. So when we walked in, they asked for my ID and they scanned it. Now it's on my record. heehee!!

We sat at the sushi bar so we got to watch our sushi get made. The sushi chef was really nice and informative. It was 1/2 price sushi while we were there so we ordered 10 rolls for the three of us. They were yummy. I didn't try all of them because some of them were HOT. My favorite, out of what we ordered, was called Funky Vegas. It's a tempura roll with salmon, crab, tobiko, cream cheese and spicy eel sauce. I was unsure if I'd like the spicy eel sauce because I'm a wimp when it comes to spice, but it was a yummy kick. Here are some pictures of what we ate.
This was one of our appetizers, it's Edamame with salt. It was really yummy.
This is another appetizer we had. It's tempura veggies. There was broccoli, carrots, onions, peppers, red peppers, and asparegous. It was really yummy!!This is a picture of Hutch eating a sushi rolled called Death. He said that he has had hotter rolls before. But remember, Hutch loves hot things and can take it.The roll in the center is the Funky Vegas. The roll on the right is a California Roll and the one on the left is a Philadelphia Roll.
The roll on the left is the Death roll, the two rolls covered in rice is the Seattle Crunch and the other roll is the Funky Charlie. I didn't try the Death roll or the Funky Charlie because I was told they were hot.

It was a fun and enjoyable evening. If you really like sushi it's a place to try out. Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. is half price sushi rolls. It's a good time to go!!

p.s. thanks for the support about auditioning for Christmas Carol. I'm auditioning on Saturday at 9:30 am!

Should I or Shouldn't I?

So my dear friends, I need your opinions again. Auditions for Hale Theatre's production of "A Christmas Carol" are coming up. Should I audition? I do know that just because I audition doesn't mean I'll get cast, but auditioning is a step closer than not auditioning. I know that I need to spend more time getting myself into better shape and I need to spend more time with my hubby (even though he has school) and I know that my besty misses me when I do a show. But I also miss performing. It's something that I love doing. Should I just audition and see what happens?

Temple Blessings

Some of you know that for the past few years Hutch and I have been trying to start our family. Over two years of fertility pills and two miscarriages later, I'm getting more and more discouraged. I get extremely jealous when a friend announces their pregnant (although I am happy as well) or when I hear about another teenager getting pregnant. We can't afford to adopt right now (sometime in the future we'd like to). So it just leaves us to wait until it happens.

The other night we were blessed with the opportunity to clean the Salt Lake Temple. It's amazing how vacuuming the temple can still bring on spiritual experiences. While I was vacuuming I realized how truly blessed I am. I have a wonderful husband who loves me and takes care of me. Who lets me cry each month we find out I'm not pregnant. Who holds me and reminds me that it will happen someday. I'm also blessed with wonderful nieces and nephews that let me spoil them to my heart's content. They help fill the void that I feel. Every hug and kiss and "I luv wo Canice" is the world to me. Or when they fight over who I belong to. "My Candice" "No, my Candice". I also have wonderful friends that let me be a part of their kid's lives as well. The temple is a wonderful place to remind us of our families and that we will have them forever. Even if our family doesn't get started right now, when it does it will last forever.
