Last night Hutch finished his homework earlier than usual. He came into the front room and asked if I wanted to do something since he was finished for the evening. I asked him to step outside and tell me if it's cold (yes, I'm lazy - but I have a good excuse.). He came back in and said it's a bit chilly but not too bad. So I suggested we go for a walk. We haven't done that for awhile because of the snow. I don't like to walk in snow. So I put some tennis shoes and socks on and 40 hours later I was ready. Ok, not really 40 hours but it's amazing how long it can take to do something as simple as put shoes and socks on. We put on some jackets and went out the door. For a good 30 minute walk we walk to the church, walk around it once or twice and then walk home. Since I'm slower than usual we only walked it once.
While we were walking toward the church I was noticing how many dogs were barking at us. It seemed that every 2nd or so house had a dog. I had no idea we had so many dogs in our neighborhood. It started to be comical at how many dogs there were. Then Hutch pointed out that our streets are not very well lit so they all must have dogs for security purposes. It's amazing what you can discover about your own neighborbood simply by going for a walk.

Painting Perrin's Room
Saturday my dad, brother James and hubby Hutch and I painted Perrin's bedroom. We're not completely finished yet. We had to fix some cracks in the walls that lead to some holes needing to be fixed. We were able to get 3 of the 4 walls painted blue and one coat of white on the ceiling. This week Hutch and I will put a second coat on the ceiling and paint the last wall. We needed to let the hole filler in the 4th wall finish drying for a while before painting. Starting to get his room together is making it feel like he's coming soon. We're really excited!!
My brother James. He looks like he's painting my dad's head but he's not. He also just got engaged!!
This is my dad starting to paint the ceiling white. Do you love all of the cracks and holes we had to repair. If you're buying a house, make sure it's not made out of lathe and plaster.
This is Hutch putting the light back together. We pulled it down to paint underneath it. Doesn't the back of his head look good! That's my dad in the back ground painting.
This is one of the corners of the room. The gray is the old color, the blue is the new color. In this picture the ceiling is still gray.
Once we get the room completely finished, I'll post some more pictures. Thanks Hutch, James and Dad for all of your help! I love you all very much and appreciate all you do!!
p.s. I don't have the results from my glucose test. I called my doctor and they haven't received the results back yet. Which is weird since all they needed to do was walk across the hall to where the test was done. But what do I know? :)

I Should Have Studied More
I failed my pre-glucose test today. That doesn't mean I have pregnancy diabetes. It means I have to have a more intensive test done to find out if I do. If I do have it, diet had nothing to do with it. My doctor said it's the pregnancy hormone that is produced that causes it and there's nothing I could have done to prevent it, if I have it.
So tomorrow morning I go back to my doctor's at 7:30 a.m. for a four (yes 4) hour glucose test. I have to fast about 8 hours beforehand, that's why it's so early. They take my blood when I get there, I drink some nasty, strong stuff, I sit for an hour, they take my blood again, I sit for an hour, they take my blood and so forth for about 4 hours. If I fail two of those tests, I have pregnancy diabetes. If I do have it, my doctor will send me to a dietician to put me on a diabetes diet for the rest of my pregnancy. Once I have the baby, the diabetes will be gone.
My doctor's office does have internet so I can bring my laptop and maybe do some work (maybe) and play on the internet. I'm also re-reading Harry Potter 7 (British Version) so I can do that as well. Since there was nothing I could have done to prevent it, if I have it, it will be ok. I'll just miss the things I won't be able to eat during the rest of my pregnancy.

Ides of March
Beware of the Ides of March! How true!! I wish I had heeded this advice. Maybe I'd know that sleeping is not an option anymore and that the Kung Fu finals were happening inside of me. On the plus side, I think Perrin might win the Kung Fu championship. :)

Am I a Teenager?
I have pregnancy acne. It's terrible. I hate looking at myself in the mirror. I hate putting makeup on because it's probably making it worse. I've NEVER had acne this bad before. I read in my baby book that I'm not supposed to use anything with Benzoil Peroxide in it so it lessens what I can use on my face.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or am I just out of luck until the baby comes?

How long does it take to cook a cheese sandwich?
Today we had a tenant almost burn down a building. She was cooking a cheese sandwich in the microwave. (Mmmm....Cheese). When she came back she noticed there was smoke and a burning smell. She had cooked the sandwich for 12 minutes and the paper towel caught on fire. 12 MINUTES!! Hilarious!! Stories like this help on a slow Friday.
On a side note, no real damage, the building wasn't going to burn down and everyone is fine.

Sassy Boots + Pregnancy = Ouch!
Today I'm wearing my sassy boots. I love my sassy boots. They have about a 3 inch heel and go below my knees and are black. They are really cute. I've had them for about 10 years. I bought (when I say "I" I mean my mom) them for a parade when I was first attendant to Miss Midvale. I saw them in my closet this morning as I was getting ready. I thought, "I probably won't be able to wear them much longer until after the pregnancy, I should wear them today." Bad idea. Don't get me wrong, they still look cute, my feet are just swelling. I sometimes forget that I get a lot hotter than normal. I also forget that your feet grow about 1/2 a size during pregnancy. So add in everything I'm going through, and my feet are swollen in my boots. Sad. I emailed Hutch and told him and he said he'd help me take them off when I get home. But with the soreness and swolleness, I still look cute! And that's what's important. :)
