Last night Hutch finished his homework earlier than usual. He came into the front room and asked if I wanted to do something since he was finished for the evening. I asked him to step outside and tell me if it's cold (yes, I'm lazy - but I have a good excuse.). He came back in and said it's a bit chilly but not too bad. So I suggested we go for a walk. We haven't done that for awhile because of the snow. I don't like to walk in snow. So I put some tennis shoes and socks on and 40 hours later I was ready. Ok, not really 40 hours but it's amazing how long it can take to do something as simple as put shoes and socks on. We put on some jackets and went out the door. For a good 30 minute walk we walk to the church, walk around it once or twice and then walk home. Since I'm slower than usual we only walked it once.
While we were walking toward the church I was noticing how many dogs were barking at us. It seemed that every 2nd or so house had a dog. I had no idea we had so many dogs in our neighborhood. It started to be comical at how many dogs there were. Then Hutch pointed out that our streets are not very well lit so they all must have dogs for security purposes. It's amazing what you can discover about your own neighborbood simply by going for a walk.

We love taking a walk around our neighborhood too. :^) It's a favorite Sunday afternoon activity.
