When Agent P was born in 2010, there were some complications and he had to spend some extra days in the hospital. In 2011 he had open heart surgery and spent some time in the hospital. 2012 he had an allergic reaction to a cashew and spent the night in the hospital. One of our biggest goals for 2013 was to go the entire year without a hospital stay...we made it 10 days.
Last night we had to take Agent P to the ER to get stitches. We were running through the house chasing each other and he fell and hit his head on our bed frame. I grabbed him and took him to the bathroom to get some tissues. Once we saw how big the cut was we knew he'd need stitches so we braved the horrible snow last night and went to the ER.
He was one tough kid. They put the numbing cream on his head and put a bandage on it so he wouldn't touch it.
Luckily we had our iPod so he was able to watch Phineas and Ferb while waiting for the numbing to work. We could tell once it worked because he started singing and dancing and jumping and just being himself.
When they were ready to do the stitches I put youtube on and played videos of Trains. He loves Trains! It really helped calm him down and made it easier for the doc. Hutch and I held his hands and the nurse held his head still. He was good the whole time until the last stitch when the numbing wasn't as good. He calmed down right when the doc was finished though. The nurse gave him a popcicle which made everything perfect.
This is just after the stitches were done. Agent P has got to be one of the bravest and toughest kids I know. He did so good. He even won the hearts of all of the nurses. He's such a flirt!
