First Time Belt

Isn't it funny how you can remember random things at random times. Today while I was driving to work I remembered when I first discovered that I could belt. I was at the Johnson house practicing my song for the Miss Midvale pageant. (yes, I was in a beauty pageant...get over it) I was singing "Hold On" from The Secret Garden. I remember that Colleen, Stephanie and one of Stephs friends (can't remember who) was there. I sang it through once and sang the end normal (the end being "...is bound to go away!" for those who know the song). Everyone told me that it was beautiful and I'll do a great job. I asked if I could sing it again because I wanted to try something different. I could hear the belt in my head but I hadn't tried it. So I sang it again but belted the last note. After I was done, I remember Stephanie starring at me and saying something to the effect of "yes. do that." Heehee!! I'm so greatful to have friends that help me become who I am and who are always there to let me try new things and don't judge me if I screw it up. I ended up belting the last note at the pageant and I won the talent scholarship and First Attendant.
