Pimpernel Audition

For my audition I sang "How Many Tears" from the musical Martin Guierre. Beautiful song. I rocked it!! I had emotion and strength. It was one of the best auditions I have ever had. Everyone complimented me on my song. After my group was done they read a list of people. I was on that list. We then were lead into a different room where the costumers were. Pretty much, you can't fit in the costume, you're not in. So I was cut at that point. I was pretty upset. I've been fighting with my weight my whole life. I was drawn to theater because it took me away from real life. A place I could go and not think about my weight, I'm someone else. So it hurt that the thing that took me away, caused more pain. I don't agree with the way they decided to cast the show, but it's their show. After talking it over with people I feel fine now. I know I have the talent and that's what counts. I don't regret auditioning because it gave the directors and producers another chance to see me sing. I'll keep auditioning and I'll keep on the elliptical. I'm happy with who I am, and that's what's important!!

I heard about the auditions, and personally think it was dumb the way they measured everyone. Dumb, dumb, dumb. I'm glad you had a great audition, though! I'm also glad that you are happy with who you are. That is absolutely the most important thing. :)

Holy cow! I can't believe they did that! Grrrr. I wanted to audition, but knew that, unlike you, I don't have the talent and it wouldn't have done me any good. Ah well...maybe someday. :^)

I know you're awesome and don't care what they think. *hugs*

Congratulations for totally rocking the audition! I am proud of you! Wish it could have worked out because I'd love to hear you sing this music -- it's right up your alley. Next time :D

Well, it's their loss. You would have been fabulous. They don't deserve you. Plus it's just plain mean and stupid. Which theater was this? I'll give them a piece of my mind!
On another note, I'm coming to see Seussical!!! :) Yay! It's been ages since I saw you in a show.
