As many of you are aware, I am the Activites Co-Chair for my ward with my husband. We haven't enjoyed our calling as much as others enjoy their callings. We have enjoyed the opportunity to meet others in the ward through the calling but the activites always seem to come at the most stressful times of the year. We are going to be released from our calling (yeah!) soon.
Saturday was our last party that we planned before our release. It turned out better then we thought. The hardest part was that our committed consisted of about 10-12 people but only 2 people showed up to help. I'm soooooo beyond greatful for Hutch and all of the hard work that he put into this party. With rehearsals taking up most of my time, I couldn't help out as much as I needed to. But everything came together in the end and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
We had hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, chips, beans and popsicles. For the entertainment we had Karaoke. Yes. We had Karaoke. It was our Bishop's idea. We had more people participate then I thought would. Our Bishop was one of the first ones to get up and sing. He sang a U2 song. (he's a HUGE U2 fan) He wasn't the best singer but he had fun! It really helped to have the support of the Bishop because after he sang, we had a bunch of people want to get up and sing. We had a lot of quiet people come out of their shells and perform. It was a lot of fun!! And I'm glad I don't have to plan anymore.
But again, a special thanks to my loving husband Hutch. Thank you for running around and taking care of everyone. For lifting all of the heavy things. For making sure I got dinner even though you didn't get to eat until late and your food was cold. For getting people to sign up for Karaoke that wouldn't normally volunteer. For being such a wonderful priesthood holder. And for being my best friend. I love you!!
