Hutch and I went to a baby class on Saturday. You have the option of doing one full day class or a class that is a couple of hours once a week for four weeks. We chose to do the full one day class. We learned A LOT. Our teacher shared a lot of information. It's amazing how much you don't know; and even though I took the class, I know there is plenty I still don't know. Our teacher was very nice, very informative, but a bit weird. Everyone can do what they want with their child, I think that's great. If you feel that breast feeding your child at 3 years old is good for you and him than kudos to you. It's not for me though. Our teacher was very pro-breast feeding so we learned A LOT about that and I'm grateful for that information. For those of you who have
seen the movie "Baby Mamma", there was a moment I could have said "can I just spray some Pam spray down there beforehand?" but I didn't. I did repeat the movie line quietly to Hutch though-we laughed to ourselves.

I did repeat the movie line quietly to Hutch though-we laughed to ourselves. We had a young couple in front of us that I don't think were older than 17 0r 18. I don't believe they were married since she referred to him as "him" and he referred to himself as "the father". Throughout the class I kept saying in my head "oh sweetie! You shouldn't be having a child." I know I'm mean, I've come to accept that but I feel that some people need to grow up more before they have a child. Especially when it's an inconvenience to you that you can't drink while pregnant. (is she even old enough to drink?)
As I mentioned before, we leared a lot in this class. From what we learned, we've decided to try having natural childbirth. DON'T JUDGE ME! Sorry for the reaction. I haven't received very comforting support from people when I tell them that. The only person who said, they support me and thought it was a good idea and would help me prepare any way they can was my Mother. I love you mom! My mom had two of her kids natural and two with an epidural. The funny thing is those who tell me I'm crazy and I shouldn't do it are those who have never had a child or those who received an epidural once they arrived at the hospital. My response has started to be "How do you know?!?!? You haven't tried!" I might react meaner than I should but I'm not the type of person who likes being told what they are doing is wrong or crazy. In our class we learned about many different relaxation techiniques and Hutch also learned some at massage therapy school. So we are going to start practicing relaxing techniques each day for 20-30 minutes to prepare ourselves. If I get to a point during delivery that I can't do it, than I'll get the epidural (I know there's a time when I can't get it). But we're going to try to do it old school style and we both feel really good about it.
So we have about 8 weeks left until my due date. I feel like we still have so much to do to get ready. I know we won't ever feel prepared but that's normal. I have a friend who has an 18 year old and she says she still doesn't feel prepared. :) Thanks to all of my friends and family for their love and support over the past while and for the next upcoming weeks.
